Difference between “Fear” and “Respect”

Fear is an emotion induced by a perceived threat which causes entities to quickly pull far away from it and usually hide and Respect is a positive feeling of esteem or deference for a person or other entity (such as a nation or a religion), and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem. In our life we always have fear of something that maybe while doing works or sitting with our friends or while in our home or doing something else, so fear is like our enemy that always exist with us and Respect means the positive feeling that comes through positive thoughts, positive strength and is also the mutual understanding that creates good relation among the people, is something that is earned when we treat well with other people.

Fear is frequently related to the specific behaviors of escape and avoidance, whereas anxiety is the result of threats which are perceived to be uncontrollable or unavoidable. It is worth noting that fear almost always relates to future events, such as worsening of a situation, or continuation of a situation that is unacceptable. Fear can also be an instant reaction to something presently happening. All people have an instinctual response to potential danger, which is in fact important to the survival of all species. The reactions elicited from fear are seen through advantages in evolution. Fear can be a manipulating and controlling factor in an individual's life. Respect is both given and received. We expect other people to respect us in return for the respect we show them. Respect is also something that is earned by the standards of the particular society in which one lives. Respect cannot be measured as a quantity, cannot be bought or traded, it is one of those things that is earned and built over time, but that can be lost with one stupid or inconsiderate act. One can ask or beg for respect, but only others can bestow us with respect as a result of their perceived treatment by us. Respect cannot always be seen or observed by actions, but for those who practice chivalry, the outward display of respect is refreshing.

So, at last fear and respect is something that people carry with them but there is not always fear or respect, but people should learn how to respect others, they should try to overcome their fear. We all have fear in ourselves but that fear is inner fear from other whom we respect, but some fear is dangerous fear that is harmful for all is physical fear where people get fear from others and don’t respect others due to such fear. As we know there is fear everywhere but there is also a word called respect which helps us to overcome these fear. So have a respectful life not fearful life. (Anon., 2010)

Difference between “Confidence” and “Arrogance”

Confidence is generally described as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective and arrogance is described as doing something with ignorance. “Confidence” and “Arrogance”, we think they are similar but if we think logically there is difference between them. So the confidence means to do anything properly without giving up and with plan whereas arrogance means to do anything but with ignorance.

Comparing with the people with “Confidence” and “Arrogance” we can differentiate them. Confident person have full faith on their planned work whereas arrogant person have habit to skip the works or anything as if they can do it without the concentration on their work. So Confident person have the habit of doing anything without skipping and try their best to overcome their weakness but arrogance person is totally opposite from confidence person, they just ignore anything and don’t try their best to overcome their weakness and pretend that they are strong. Confident and arrogant people can also be differentiated with their physical status. Confident people always walk their head held up and have good attitude and self-respect whereas arrogant cannot do that as they have a habit of ignoring things.

So, finally what we can say is that Confident people are talented and successful people with self-respect whereas arrogant people are also successful people but their successes are filled with problems in their life. And also Confident people relation status is more success than those of arrogant people. Therefore what we can say is that every person have certain weakness but we should not give up without trying anything or just keep on trying until we overcome our weakness and succeed ourselves, and maintain ourselves as confidence person not arrogance person.

Task 1

Below are two of the ability I should aim to acquire during this course as a computing student.
1.    Use criteria and specifications appropriate to specific problems and plan solutions.
Being a computing student I will face the different problems in my career and for that I must acquire some skills to handle the problems which come ahead of me. I must learn to handle the problems during my computing course and gather experiences which will be useful for my career. Following are the steps that I should learn and experience when the problems comes in-front of me
·         Identify and understand the problem- when the problem comes, first I must be able to identify the problems and understand the complications of the problem.
·         Think of logical solutions- after understanding the problem, I must think of the logical solutions which will help to solve the problem.
·         Choose the best solution- I must select the best and logical solution which will lead me to solve the problem.
·         Evaluation of the problem after solution- I must check whether the problem is solved with no side-effects otherwise look for other solution.
Above are the steps that I must experience during my computing course to face the problems In coming future.
2.    Work as a development team member, recognizing the different roles within a team and different ways of organizing teams
As a computing student and making career in software development, I must work in a group in my career so I must gain experience on group work and recognize and respect the roles of the members of the group. Working in a group with unknown peoples will be hard in coming future so I want to gain some group working experience and find the complications during group work and minimize these errors from my side. As we already have done our first group work project on our 1st semester and being the leader of one group I personally encountered and experienced some complications that come during group work and I am trying to minimize errors of groups that comes from my side which will be a huge step for my career. I am also looking forward to learn different ways of organizing teams and team leadership.
So, above were the ability that I aim to acquire during this course.
